Are you under 30 with an interesting site on the web? Do you care about creating culture, gender equality, education for all or issues like hunger, poverty, disease and environmental degradation?
GET ACTION ON MDGs!
The World Summit Youth Award (WSYA) invites young designers, e-content creators, writers and bloggers from around the world to enter their online projects right now at www.youthaward.org and to present their website or mobile application addressing the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to the world!
ONLY TWO WEEKS TO GO – THE FINAL CALL!
The early deadline for online submissions is June 27, 2010 and the application form is available online at http://competition.youthaward.org/reg/reg.asp
Online projects by youth under the age of 30 can be entered in the following six categories:
1. Fight Poverty, Hunger and Disease !
2. Education for all !
3. Power 2 Women !
4. Create your Culture !
5. Go Green !
6. Pursue Truth !
RATE ENTRIES AT YA-FRIENDS!
At the YA-friends platform WSYA contestants have the chance to present their online projects and have them rated beforehand by the community as well as to discuss various submissions in forums and hence network internationally. Through the Facebook connected platform the young participants can invite friends to join YA-friends and thus make them active members of the WSYA network: http://friends.youthaward.org/
YOUNG JUDGE YOUNG
The WSYA honours up to three winning teams per category whose online project, product or application is chosen by the international expert jury as the best in digital content in one of the six categories. The published jury process will be done on the basis of six criteria in two online rounds. By the end of July 2010 the winners will be announced and invited to the WSYA Winners Events in New York City.
WSYA GOES BIG APPLE!
At the four-days Winners Events WSYA celebrates the achievements in local content creation and presents the winning projects to the United Nations in support for reaching the MDGs. The most committed and creative young people from around the world will be brought together with the UN Millennium Review Summit Leader from September 18-22, 2010 in New York City.
